We always eat prawns kalvan (curry) or fried prawns. But sometimes we wish to make something different. And so today I am going to show you the recipe of Kadai prawns. Here I have half kilogram of prawns.
Which are peeled and deveined. To that add 1 tablespoon of red chilli powder. 1/2 teaspoon of turmeric powder. 1 teaspoon of cumin seeds powder. And 1 tablespoon coriander seeds powder. And I will marinate it with juice of 1/2 a lemon.
Here I have kept iron skillet to heat. In that I will heat 3 tablespoon of oil. To that I will add 3 finely chopped onions and sauté it till it turns golden in colour. Onion has turn nice and brown. To that add 1 teaspoon of ginger paste.
And add 1 teaspoon of garlic paste and sauté it till it’s raw smell goes away. Here I have 4 green chillies slitted lengthwise. I will add that and sauté it for a minute. I will add about 1/4 teaspoon of turmeric powder again and sauté it.
Raw smell of ginger and garlic has gone away. Now add 2 finely chopped tomatoes and sauté it till it turns soft. Tomato has turn nice and soft. Now to that we will add 1 teaspoon of garam masala. And add 1 teaspoon of fennel seeds powder.
Saute it for 2 minutes. Now add marinated prawns into it and sauté it. Now to this add salt as per taste. It doesn’t take time for prawns to cook. It takes 4 to 5 minutes. If you over cook it, it becomes little hard to chew.
I have sauté it. Now to this I will add 1/4 cup of thick coconut milk and cook it properly. Our prawns are cooked. Now let’s add coriander leaves on it. Mix it. And remove it in a serving bowl. Our Kadai prawns are ready.
It taste very good with chapati or parathas. You can also serve it as a party snack. So do try this recipe, it is a quick recipe and let me know. For more such good recipes, subscribe to Ruchkar Mejwani.
