Hello Friends , I am Kabita, welcome to my channel Today I am going to cook Dum Aloo I am going to use pressure cooker to cook this dum aloo It is very simple recipe to make tasty dum aloo Do try this recipe If you like this recipe, please do click on LIKE button and don’t forget to subscribe to my Channel Let’s get started with this Pressure Cooker Dum Aloo Recipe Turn on the flame, heat a cooker and add oil We will fry the Potato pieces first Let the oil heat properly before adding potato I have cut the potatoes in two halves Put potato carefully in the pan Cover the pan partially to avoid splutter of oil We will fry the potatoes on medium flame for 3-4 mins Keep stirring in between to ensure that potato doesn’t get stuck to the pan You may skip the frying process but this process enriches the taste As you can see potatoes are a little fried now We wouldn’t fry it more Take it out from the cooker If you don’t want to use pressure cooker then boil the potato first.

After boiling, fry it and keep it aside. Prepare the masala paste as shown in the video and add fried potatoes to the masala paste. Keep the fried potato aside and add little oil in the same pan I have kept the flame on medium Add bay leaves, once oil is heated After that, we will add cumin seeds We will fry bay leaves and cumin seeds for few seconds We will add little sugar once cumin seeds are slightly fried Sugar is optional but using it will enhance the taste We will add chopped onions now I have used onion slices, you may use finely chopped onions After mixing the onions, we will fry it for 2-3 minutes on medium flame After 2-3 minutes, the colour of onion slices have changed a little Now we will add ginger garlic paste I am using 1 tsp of ginger garlic paste Mix it well After mixing it, we will cook it for another 30 seconds on medium flame Allow it to cook After 30 seconds, stir it again We have fried onion and ginger garlic paste Now we will add dry spices to it, as always reduce the flame to low before adding the spices Add turmeric powder and red chilli powder ( I am using Kashmiri red chilli powder) Add coriander powder, cumin powder, black pepper powder and garam masala powder I am not adding salt here, will add it later We will fry the spices a bit(I am not using non-stick pan, so spices are sticking to the pan a bit) Lets add tomato slices, I have cut the tomato in slices Mix it You may use grated tomato or tomato puree instead I am adding salt here to speed up the cooking of tomatoes Add the required salt here, we would not add salt further Now we will mix it We had reduced the flame to low before adding spices We will increase the flame to medium to cook tomato faster Cover the pan and cook it on medium flame for 3-4 minutes After 3-4 minute, tomatoes would have turned soft.

Mash it with spatula Masala paste is ready now Now, we will add fried potatoes After adding potatoes, we will add schezwan chutney I am adding 1 tbsp of schezwan chutney Remember, schezwan chutney contains salt so use less salt in the beginning Schezwan chutney is optional but it makes this dish yummy We have mixed it properly, now add water Add 1/2 cup of water, don’t use lot of water Thick curry will taste better Mix it well In this curry, less water results better make the consistency of the gravy like this Now, close the lid of pressure cooker and cook it for 2 whistles on low-medium flame Allow it to cook for 2 whisltes on low-medium flame First whistle was done, second whistle is about to come After 2 whistles, we will switch off the flame Let the cooker cool down (do not open in between) Allow it to cool down Once the pressure cooker cools down We will open it carefully once pressure cooker has cooled down As you can see, texture of the curry is very rich It is looking colourful and very tempting I will bring it close to the camera to show you the texture This quick dum aloo is ready now Look at this With a help of fork we will check if potatoes are cooked properly Potato is cooked perfectly Keep it in mind to cook it for only 2 whistles on low medium flame At the end, add coriander leaves coriander leaves are optional Mix it properly This quick dum aloo recipe is ready now Look at this As you can see gravy is perfect and potatoes are cooked properly Let serve it, take a portion in a serving bowl/plate I had served the same curry with roomali roti recipe, you would have seen this in that video Please do try this easy dum aloo recipe, I am sure you would love it If you liked today’s recipe, please click on LIKE button and don’t forget to subscribe to my channel
