(easy guitar music) – Hey guys! It’s Becky from thecookierookie.com and today I’m so excited to be making one of our favorite, truly easy recipes, spicy garlic butter shrimp. This is a great recipe for an easy weeknight meal, perfect appetizer to serve a crowd for game day, or throw it over some grits and make a romantic meal for two.
I love this recipe ’cause it’s made in under 10 minutes with, as you can see, only a few ingredients. Let’s get started! We’re gonna start by just adding salt and pepper to our shrimp, very simple. (salt grinding) We have enough seasoning that’s gonna go into the skillet that salt and pepper is perfect.
All you need. (pepper grinding) We’re gonna start by adding 2 tablespoons butter to a hot skillet, medium-high heat. And that’s gonna be half of our butter for this recipe. (butter sizzles) Go ahead and let that.
.. melt in your pan. Once the butter is melted, we’re adding all of our shrimp to the skillet. (shrimp sizzles) I love that sizzle! It’s gonna be done in no time. Right when you add your shrimp we’re gonna go ahead and add garlic paste as well as red pepper paste.
You can add as much or as little red pepper paste as you like, but it will get spicy the more you add. (sizzling) Then just toss that to combine to make sure all the shrimp are coated. It takes about 4 to 5 minutes to cook shrimp completely.
So watch them closely. When they start turning opaque, you know they’re about done. Okay, so they’re getting nice and cooked. It smells amazing. And we’re just gonna add more butter and lemon juice. We’re gonna use about 1 tablespoon lemon juice, which on a big lemon might be half, on this small lemon we’re just gonna use the whole lemon.
Always use real lemon juice. (lemon juice sizzles) Adds such a bright, nice, flavor to the shrimp. And then we’re gonna add the extra 2 tablespoons of butter to make our sauce. This smells so good. I hope you guys try this recipe.
Let that melt in. And we’re almost done! Once the butter’s melted and you have a nice sauce from the lemon juice and the extra butter, we’re just gonna season with some herbs. We’re gonna use red pepper flakes, as little or as much as you’d like, and then some dried basil.
You can use whatever herbs you like. Parsley, cilantro, sky’s the limit. And you have a beautiful shrimp dish so you can put it over pasta, over rice, over grits, anything you’d like. You can eat them by themselves.
They’re delicious. I hope you love the recipe. Hop over to thecookierookie.com for details. (easy guitar music)
