Hello Friends, Welcome to my channel “From the Lost Kitchen” Hope you liked my earlier video of making dosa with oats. Today we’ll see how to make quick and easy granola oats. First take a thick bottomed pan and add coconut oil to it.
If you are someone who doesn’t like coconut oil, you may replace it with any other oil of your choice but try to avoid olive oil as it has this subtle smell that doesn’t go well with this Now add a cup of oats to it and saute for 5 mins.
Now add nuts of your choice. I am adding peanuts, almonds and cashews as they are easily available. Now saute them for 10 mins. Now add either dry coconut powder or chunks based on your choice and saute for another 10 mins.
Saute them only on low heat as they will turn bitter if burnt. Now add chopped dates and any other sun dried fruits of your choice. Make sure they don’t have any extra sugars added to them. Now add flax seeds, chia/basil seeds and melon, pumpkin and cranberries one after the another and roast them for about 5 mins.
If you are someone who likes it sweet, you can add jaggery powder or raw sugar powder Also add a pinch of salt for taste. As I used salted nuts, am not adding any salt explicitly here. Once the mixture turns brown and crunchy, add vanilla extract or vanilla essence as per availability.
However add Vanilla extract preferably. cinnamon powder and cocoa powder. Turn off the stove and let it cool for sometime. Now shift it to an air tight container and store. It stays fresh for about a month.
People who prefer to eat them like energy bars, can mix peanut butter and honey to the mixture, crush the mixture with hands and mix well Crushing makes it easy to bind the mixture together. Now take a setting try and layer it with butter paper and pour the mixture into the tray and press it hard to bind the mixture together.
Now place it in refrigerator for 4 hours to allow it to set Just cut them into bars once it is set. That’s it healthy and tasty homemade granola is ready Will get back to you with another healthy recipe Till then, Stay Happy and Stay healthy
