Hi, my name is Jane Murphy I’m a chef here at Zen Clay Cafe in Morgantown, West Virginia and I’m going to be showing you how to make a heart healthy lentil soup on behalf of Expert Village. Now we’re going to be sauteing.
I’m going to put enough broth in the bottom to cover the pan. You’ll notice again it is just the liquid portion. Now you could just use water, you could use canned vegetable broth that doesn’t have any oil added to it, just be careful to check your ingredients.
If you’re watching your salt intake you may need to be careful about how much water is in the can products. So we’re going to turn that on, heat it up just a little bit and then add our vegetables and there we go.
You just want to stir it, because you do want to prevent it from drying out and sticking. It should take about 5 minutes for the vegetables to saute. If the broth is drying up just add some more.
