(upbeat music) Hey y’all, it’s Cheryl Malik from 40 Aprons, and today we’re making lemon garlic salmon. This dinner recipe is out of this world delicious. We make it with only a few ingredients and in less than 30 minutes.
You wanna drink the lemon garlic butter sauce, and guess what? I won’t judge you for it. This salmon recipe is super, super easy and quick, making it perfect enough for a weeknight dinner, you’re gonna get in and out of the kitchen super quickly, but it’s also good enough to serve company.
This lemon garlic salmon is naturally low carb and keto friendly, and you can simply use ghee instead of butter to make it whole 30 or paleo. So, let’s make it. (upbeat music) We’ll start by making the lemon garlic sauce.
In a small saucepan, melt the ghee or butter over a medium heat. Add the garlic and saute one to two minutes, or until fragrant. (upbeat music) Add in the chicken broth, lemon juice, and a few generous pinches of salt.
(upbeat music) Simmer this mixture until it’s reduced by a third to a half; the sauce will turn from really thin liquid to a thicker, more bubbly boil. Remove from the heat and set aside. Now let’s make the salmon.
Remove the salmon from the fridge about 10 to 20 minutes before cooking. Sprinkle both sides liberally with salt, and season with black pepper. (upbeat music) Heat a little oil in a large skillet over medium high heat until simmering, then carefully place the filets skin side up, and cook until lightly browned on the bottom, about two to three minutes, or until crispy.
Use a spatula to carefully flip, taking care not to flake off any flesh. (upbeat music) Cook three to four minutes on the second side, or until the skin is crisp, and the flesh begins to feel firm to the touch.
Remove at this point for a salmon cooked around medium, then continue to cook until the flesh flakes easily with a fork for well done salmon. (upbeat music) Remove the pan from heat, and pour lemon garlic sauce over it.
Sprinkle with parsley, and arrange lemon slices over if desired, serve with skin, or easily remove with a spoon, and serve with more lemon garlic sauce, and lemon slices from the pan. (upbeat music) I think you’re gonna love it.
