Hi, This is Alia and welcome back to my kitchen!!! Today’s video is the last video of the warka week Warka is a Moroccan filo dough and I already showed you how to make it at home and use it in multiple recipes However, today is my favorite warka recipe Because, It’s first a dessert and it’s my favorite Moroccan dessert called Milk Bastilla We basically fry the warka dough and topped it with the milk cream flavored with orange blossom water.
..Yum!!! Then you topped with warka, Milk, warka, Milk . . . and then topped with nuts or fruit or anything you want It’s simply DELICIOUS!!! So let’s start! Let’s chop these beautiful roasted almonds You can also use any other nuts of your choice Roasted walnuts or pistachios or any crunchy nuts you like.
then solve the corn starch with a little bit of cold milk in a saucepan, add the milk, the Cinnamon stick, the cloves and the sugar Mix well with a whisk. Cook on medium heat. Once the milk reaches the boiling point, remove the cinnamon stick and cloves Now add the solved corn starch while whisking Continue cooking the milk on medium heat for another 5 minutes Keep whisking.
Very important. Until the milk mixture become creamy and thick. Now, it’s ready! Filter your milk mixture with your sieve to get rid of any chucks and then add your orange blossom water This is my favorite flavor in the whole world Let the milk mixture cool down and let’s prepare the warka.
Here, I’m going to shape my warka into small discs. But, it doesn’t matter. You can just cut it with scissors in any shape you like Here are my warka discs If the warka you’re using is too thin, you can stick 2 pieces together Heat some vegetable oil in a pan on medium heat and Once it’s hot, add the warka disks Fry them for one minute on both sides until they get the beautiful golden color Place the discs in a paper towel to absorb excess oil We have to serve this dessert now Right after frying the warka when it’s still warm Now, show you how to plate it First, you place 2 pieces of fried warka Top them with the milk mixture Sprinkle with chopped roasted almonds Cover with 2 pieces of fried warka then again, milk mixture, chopped roasted almonds then finally, 2 more pieces of warka add a little bit of milk mixture and some roasted almonds and here sprinkle some cinnamon and powder sugar.
VOILA! It’s ready!!! let’s taste it! Wow! Do you hear this crunchiness? Ohhh Yum!!! it’s really my favorite dessert ever! Bon appetite!
