Hi folks it’s mike with Getmytips.com with a very easy beef stew recipe and that’s because it’s cooked in an electric pressure cooker. Now if you don’t have an electric pressure cooker you should get one.
These things are awesome I’m going to tell you upfront that if you are someone who only believes that you should prepare meals with fresh vegetables, and you have a lot of time to go shopping, then this recipe is probably not for you.
But if you are a working mom, or someone with limited time this recipe will work fantastic for you because you can prepare a delicious hearty beef stew in about 45 minutes. Let’s get started Oops I almost forgot this video is going to include a bonus tip at the end that’s going to show you how to store that open bag of potato chips or Cheetos or whatever and keep them fresher longer.
Now I’m using a bottom round roast that’s about two and a half pounds cut it up into cubes and make sure you save this nice layer of fat it goes in the bottom of the pressure cooker to help flavor the meat when it’s sautés.
You will need to medium sized onions. The first onion is going to be cut up and put in with the cubes of beef to help flavor it when it sautés. You will also need a cup and a half of water, a can of cut green beans, a can of carrots, a can of diced tomatoes, and since I’m from the Midwest I always include a can of corn in my beef stew.
A quarter cup of flour some beef bouillon cubes, plus some salt and pepper. And finally you will need to medium potatoes cut into cubes. Okay next you want to pour the beef and onions into the pressure cooker.
Then set it to saute. Stir the mix constantly so that it all browns up and gets flavored by the onion. Now you want to add three bouillon cubes, and a cup of water. Put the lid on the pressure cooker and set it for manual.
Which will put it to high pressure, Then reduce the time down to 12 minutes. When the time is up manually relieve the pressure from the pressure cooker. Then you can remove the lid and put in the rest of the ingredients.
Tomatoes notice we use the juice from the tomatoes. The carrots the corn and the green beans. Then we’re going to add an additional half a cup of water, plus salt and pepper. Okay once all the ingredients are in the pressure cooker set it for manual for three minutes just like you did before.
Now keep in mind this is not three minutes of clock time, this is three minutes of pressure cooker time which means the countdown is not going to start until it comes back up the temperature. After the countdown is complete you can manually release the pressure and once the pressure lockout is drop-down you can open the lid and reveal the delicious homemade beef stew.

You can use these inexpensive hair bands to seal up the bags of potato chips or sugar or flour or whatever you have, and by doing so you are forcing the air out of the bag and when that happens of course you’re forcing the moisture that’s in the air out of the bag and if there’s no moisture in the bag the product will stay fresher longer.
